View the Animated Background

We've used Flash to deliver the animation effect for this background. If the graphic below is moving then you've probably already downloaded the right plug-in software. If not you can do so at www.adobe.com. Please note that we have only tested the animation on Windows machines so we don't know if it will work with a Mac.

The animation should work with any version of PowerPoint from 2000 onwards. It does not appear to work with the stand-alone PowerPoint player. If you have any problems getting it to work please let us know.

Below you can watch a miniature version of the background in action. We have included two pages to get you started. If you want to add additional pages just copy one of the existing ones and paste it where you want it.

How to use animated backgrounds

There are several things you need to watch when using animated backgrounds with PowerPoint. When you want the text to appear don't left-click on the moving parts of the presentation.

Instead move the mouse and click on the static section of the image. It's important to link the image on the background to your message. That way the audience will remember your message when they think about the graphics.

Take it to the Next Level

I hope you find the animation and associated tips useful. However, we've only scratched the surface of what you could achieve. Our new book explains 125 principles that will revolutionize your presentations.

Art & Science

There's so much to remember. And if you forget anything crucial you'll have wasted everyone's time - and the golden opportunity to further your career.

It's really worth while finding out how to do it properly. Good presentations take effort - but it's a lot easier if you know exactly what to do. And that's why we created our new e-Handbook.

It's called "The Art & Science of Presentations" and it's a completely new concept for any book - there's no fillers and no waste.

This book uses the minimum number of words (probably less than in this article) and yet pack more useful information than a small library. It does that by it's use of graphics and color and it's careful choice of techniques.

I promise you - you have never seen anything
like it before.
