The Concept behind the Chess Video Ad
The target group for this advertisement are called "Type 1 executives" (T1E). They are bold and innovative decision makers and leaders. A high proportion of T1Es enjoy games, and chess in particular, and that's why the theme was chosen.
T1Es understand how business works and have a sense of humour - so they don't object to the hero being a pawn. They, themselves, often fight the status quo so they appreciate "standing alone against the big guys" (which really can't happen in the game).
The "equaliser" refers to one of our presentations. The ad demonstrates that our presentations are within reach of everyone - even those with limited resources. That's why the pawn struggles to grab the equalizer, seems to give up, and then comes up with an ingenious solution - the equivalent of finding our website.
The ad also shows the effect of our presentations. It does this by eliminating the opposition. The same metaphor also implies that the audience are blown away with what they see. |
